Float Your Boat

The Cabot, Clifton and Clifton East Neighbourhood artist, Anna Wilson, invites you to join her in making a Float from Boatyard Junk at Underfall Yard.

Come down to Underfall Yard to discover re-use and recycling stories from the boating and harbor community. Make your own mini float from boatyard junk to join the flotilla which will be launched off into the Cumberland Basin on 25th October.

Float Your Boat is a project for Cabot in partnership with the Underfall Boatyard. The project aims to tell stories about how people living and working on boats are very good at being efficient with resources - growing food in containers, making their own furniture, doing essential repairs with beer cans and strepsil packets… and how the boat yard wastes very little. Even the wood it puts in skips regularly gets collected by the houses around and Bristol Wood Recycling Project.

The Underfall Yard have a little hut that is normally used for information about the boat yard rennovation, but at the following times it will become a story-teller through a sound track consisting of interviews about re-use, and a place where you can come and make some boats and have a chat.
