We provide water and sewerage services to 2.7 million customers across the south west of England, including Bristol, Somerset, Dorset, most of Wiltshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Hampshire.
During the last 40 years, we have invested hundreds of millions of pounds in Bristol to improve the sewerage network in the city to protect the River Avon from pollution and provide a sewerage network that takes away waste from the city so it can be treated and safely released back into the environment.
Through our renewable energy company GENeco, at Bristol sewage treatment works we treat both sewage and food waste. During the treatment process we produce gas which is injected into the national gas network providing enough methane to supply more than 8,000 homes. The gas is also used fuel the Bio-Bus, the UK’s first bus to run on gas generated from human and food waste The bus, operated by First Group, is currently providing a service in the city.
