Food Connections

Food Connections, the revolutionary food event, which aims to change how we think and eat, is back after an enormously successful inaugural year. The event, which takes place in Bristol from May 1st to 9th 2015, will help the people of Bristol to connect with good food, now and into the future.

One of the cornerstone events for Bristol 2015 European Green Capital, Food Connections will involve a diverse programme of events all over the city divided into six themes: land and growing, wellbeing, feasting and festivities, get cooking, brain food and families.

Food Connections is a partnership event involving dozens of organisations all over Bristol including the BBC, Bristol City Council, University of the West of England, University of Bristol, Watershed, At- Bristol and Visit Bristol, as well as many community groups across the city.

Lorna Knapman, Festival Director says: “Food Connections is so much more than a food festival. By implementing projects designed to change the way people eat, and by bringing people from every community together through good food, the event aims to create change that will be felt long after Food Connections finishes. It really is a revolutionary event!”

One of Food Connections’ main aims is to improve access to good food in every area of Bristol. Across the city, thousands of local people will raise their forks and break bread together to celebrate the city’s rich food culture with feasts of all shapes and sizes taking place throughout the nine day event

So come and learn, taste, smell, touch and see what’s going on for yourself!
