The Colston Office Centre is a business centre in the heart of Bristol, providing a wide range of office and virtual services.

Our building was built in the eighties, so is relatively new but not built with energy efficiency in mind. As a Green Capital Partnership Pledge member, we are trying to improve this.

We already have motion detectors in toilets and landings for lighting and some LED lighting in common areas. We are investigating LED through offices and, although this expensive in one go, we are hoping to tackle a floor at a time. The newer air con units are more efficient and we will look to replace the old ones in time. We also advise clients to be conscious of electricity use. The boilers for the heating and hot water are also under review.

More widely, we are looking to educate businesses about working policies and practices that drive energy efficiency and reduce car journeys. We are developing products ourselves that will help with this.
